LinkedIn Page Inbox

The message inbox belonging to a LinkedIn company Page, separate from any personal inbox.

Definition

A LinkedIn Page inbox is the set of conversations sent to a LinkedIn company Page rather than to an individual. It is reached through the Page's admin view and is visible only to the Page's super admins and content admins.

In Depth

A Page inbox differs from a personal LinkedIn inbox in two ways that shape how teams can use it. Access is restricted: only super admins and content admins of that Page can see or answer it. And it is reply-only — LinkedIn does not allow a Page to open a conversation with a member, so a Page can respond only to people who messaged it first.

Messaging also has to be switched on for the Page, with at least one conversation topic chosen, before the inbox receives anything at all.

These constraints make the Page inbox well suited to shared support and sales queues and unsuited to outreach. In Lodgestory a Page inbox becomes a channel with assignment, routing and internal notes, and the reply-only state is shown on each conversation.
